Wow its come down to one day left in 2011 and as we prob all have done, I did some reflecting. The growth of this blog has been amazing. I went through a name change, layout changed and  gained lots of new followers. Its so funny to now be at this place. I know I have plenty more ground to cover in the blogging world but I am so grateful what I have achieved within the time I have been blogging, with the help of my committed followers and the web.

My last of back logged pics was from a recent event I was invited to attend from my sister. It was the black affair concert at my church. I had to wear black,so I def had to rummage through the closet for something.

So I have to admit this....something I do not want to admit,I saw breaking dawn with my sister. She loved twilight and Rob Patterson f course shes a teenie bopper lool,but she paid for my ticket and since I had to driver her, why not stay lool.

I'm back from a tiny break for the Holidays. I'm sure most if not all of you enjoyed a day or two off from work to enjoy even if you do not celebrate in the festivities. My Christmas weekend went by so fast. It seemed like I was prepping for this grande holiday and it was here and gone right before my eyes.

Today is a very memorial date for me. This date 2 years ago today I lost my mother. She was my best friend, my up-lifter, my cheerleader,my help in decision making. It seems like when I lost her she seemed to fill in all the holes within my life,making her leaving this earth so abruptly heart shattering.

Pluscussion: Is thrifting gifts for christmas unacceptable?

I have been thinking Do you think its rude to get someone a used gift? I know that I don't!!!! Of course it does depend on the person and situation,but really lets think about it. What if you are strapped for cash this holiday season, is it rude to go hunting for gifts at the thrift store?

So I love that its now getting colder and staying cold pretty much during the week. I can now pull out the sweaters for good and of course sweater dresses. I really have always loved sweater dresses. Who can't love them, they are so easy to style and are always so comfy.

I have been seeing more and more velvet pieces everywhere. I started picking up a few shirts weeks ago when thrift stores were putting in their winter inventory. Many vintage things over and over again become fashionable and for fall velvet was seen walking down the runway during fashion week.

Southern Word and Vandy Present :State of the Word<-what I wore

I had the pleasure of attending this years State of the Word. This event was held on the Vanderbilt campus at the Blair School of Music's Ingram Hall Saturday. This was my first event like this, which was full of young spoken word poets from all different backgrounds,spitting some amazing stuff yall.

Christmas Wish List or Love List

So I am doing blogger secret santa and as a suggestion we can do a wish list,and as I was trying to make one I just decided to show things that I like instead. Idk why but it was a bit hard trying to put together a wish list lol. I see things I want all the time but because im on a budget I like these things then move on. I;m not one to make mental notes of what I like for gifts and etc. I try never to really want to many things because usually i have to wait til its on sale or I only buy what thrifted. If I buy something new its usually shoes or leggings and sometimes jeans. Hopefully this helps who gets me. I super excited about doing blogger secret santa. They few times I have done secret santa people could not keep it a secret,boooo.
